159,668. Jackson, Ltd., J. G., and Jackson, J. G. Dec. 13, 1919. Filling materials into receptacles. - Helical extrusion apparatus of the kind in which the material is fed through a tube by the action of a helix fitted axially in the tube, and to which intermittent rotation is given to cause successive feeding of equal charges, has fixed means, at the delivery end, to prevent feeding due to gravity after the rotation of the helix has ceased. The means may take the form of a gauze or a grating. D, Fig. 1, or one or two inclined strips E, Fig. 3, or a portion of a helix corresponding to the extrusion helix disposed about the lower side of the tube. A sleeve C is adapted to secure the means to the end of the delivery tube. Specification 143,711 is referred to.
