Abstract

159,515. Whitfield, G. Sept. 21, 1917. Rack stands.-In metallic racks, stands, &c. of the type comprising a structure having horizontal shelves and formed of metal tubes secured together at their junctions by chilling, a receptacle may be formed by filling the space between two shelves 2 on all or three sides by wire grids 7. Each grid is formed of wire secured to a frame 8 of rod iron and is supported in position by the engagement, with the frame 8, of hooks 9, 10 screwed into the tubes 3 of the structure. The grid 7 forming the door is mounted in hinges 12 comprising sockets 13 embracing the tube 1 and extensions 15 having grooves to receive the frame 8, which is kept in position by a plate mounted on the other side of the frame and secured to the part 15 by a bolt. A stud 14 limits the movement of the upper socket 13. The door is held in the closed position by the engagement therewith of a bracket 18 formed of a halfround projection clipping against the upright 1 being held in position by the engagement with a slot therein of a projection on the upright 1, the door then being secured in position by a padlock engaging the said projection. To hang tools &c. in the receptacle a V-shaped frame 19 is secured to the back grid 7 and is provided with hooks for the articles.
