Abstract

158,536. Fiedler, R., and Hopfner, K. Feb. 5, 1920, [Convention date]. Combined transmitting and receiving arrangements; wired wireless systems.-In a system of telephony in which the subscriber is connected through one or more exchanges to a wireless set, or to apparatus for telephoning the high-frequency oscillations over line wires, and both receiver and transmitter have a common circuit to the exchange, but are so connected, as diagonals of a wheatstone bridge, or by a differential arrangement as not to interfere with each other, an artificial line is connected in the line to the exchange, so as to make it possible to balance the line independently of its length with one adjustment. In an example, Fig. 4, the receiver e is coupled to the equal coils h, and the transmitter f forms the other diagonal. The coil k balances the resistance of the line i leading to the exchange and the artificial line e. The arrangement is also suitable for use in telephotography.
