Sheet-cutting machines; endless chain machines; moulds; cleaning apparatus. -In moulding chocolate paste &c. the moulded confection is ejected from the mould 1 by gas or air under pressure passing through a duct 3 in the back of the mould. Fig. 2 shows a machine in which a number of moulds 1, carried by an air receptacle 2, are reciprocated by cams 8 through a stationary guide-plate 6 and operate on bars 15 of paste supported by a tray. The moulds filled with paste are raised by a spring 7, after which the tray 4 is withdrawn, the bottom of the plate 6 is cleaned by a brush 16, a fresh tray 17 is introduced and the moulded confections deposited thereon by admitting air to the vessel 2, Fig. 4, shows diagrammaticallv a machine in which endless chains 18 support the brushes 16 and trays 4 and trays 17 for receiving the confections; 19 indicates a feeding-device for supplying paste to the trays 4 and 10 the moulding-apparatus. Instead of raising the moulds after filling, the tray 4 may be slid horizontally against the bottom of the moulds, the brushes 16 being eliminated.
