Abstract

The resinous material present in waste sulphuric acid from the purification of coal-tar oils is recovered by adding water-care being taken that the temperature does not rise above 50 DEG C.-and extracting the solution with a benzene hydrocarbon, preferably of low boiling point. On evaporation of the solvent, a clear yellow powder remains.ALSO:The resinous material present in waste sulphuric acid from the purification of coal-tar oils is separated by adding water, extracting the solution with a benzene hydrocarbon, and removing the resin solution.
