Abstract

157,667. Townsend, C. S. April 13, 1920. Dentifrices.-A dentifrice, either in paste or powder form, contains as the principal ingredient cheese-whey solids, derived, for example, from the watery sour serum of the cheese-whey from cheese-making factories. To this material, which may constitue from 92.3 to 55 per cent of the compound, there may be added soap and borax in small quantities, and magnesium and calcium corbonates, additional lactic acid, and a flavouring, such as oil of wintergreen, lavender, peppermint, &c.
