(54) APPARATUS FOR DELIVERING ARTICLES DISCHARGED FROM PRODUCTION MACHINES (71) We, WINDMÖLLBR & HijLSCHER, a Kommanditgesellschaft organised and existing under the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, of 48-52 Munsterstrasse, 454 Lengerich, Westphalia, the Federal Republic of Germany, do hereby declare the invention for which we pray that a patent may be granted to us, and the method by which it is to be performed, to be particularly described in and by the following statement: The invention relates to an apparatus for delivering sacks, bags, or like flat articles discharged in overlapping relationship from a production machine.
In accordance with the invention, there is provided apparatus for delivering sacks, bags, or the like flat articles discharged in overlapping relationship from a production machine therefor, and comprising means for stacking the articles to form packets, a slow moving conveyor providing a storage means and on which the packets may be inspected, and means for transferring the packets to a further conveyor on which the articles in each packet are placed in overlapping relationship once more, and by which the articles are fed to a winding means on which the articles are wound to form storage reels.
The apparatus according to the invention makes it possible for the packets of articles that are stored and slowly conveyed on the interposed conveyor means to be checked and sorted out so that only nondefective articles are wound up to form the storage reel that consists of a spun band reel.
In order that the winding operation need not be interupted even during the time interval between taking away a filled overlapping band reel and the commencement of winding the next overlapping band reel, it is desirable for the apparatus to have a second means for transferring the packets from the slow moving conveyor to a second further conveyor for feeding the articles to a second winding means.
An example of the invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the drawing in which the single figure illustrates the interposed means for forming, conveying and separating the packets of articles.
The sacks are discharged in overlapping formation 1 from a production machine (not shown). From the overlapping formation 1 of sacks, the sacks are stacked in known manner in a packeting station 3 to form packets 2. The packets 2 are brought by way of a corner roller track onto slowly moving conveyor belts 5 which form a storage means and on which they can be checked and defective items can be sorted out. By way of further corner roller tracks 6, 7, the packets 2 arrive at further intermediate storage paths 8, 9 on which further sorting out can possibly be performed but which will generally only serve to build up a supply.At the ends of the storage paths 8, 9, sacks are pulled off in known manner by means (not shown) and are deposited by applicators (also not shown) in overlapping relationship on the conveyor means 10, 11 of the winding means 12, 13 on which they are wound to form storage reels. The winding means with the preceding conveyor means that supply the articles in overlapping relationship are described in more detail in Speci fication No. 1 535405.

(54) APPARATUS FOR DELIVERING ARTICLES DISCHARGED FROM PRODUCTION MACHINES (71) We, WINDMÖLLBR & HijLSCHER, a Kommanditgesellschaft organised and existing under the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, of 48-52 Munsterstrasse, 454 Lengerich, Westphalia, the Federal Republic of Germany, do hereby declare the invention for which we pray that a patent may be granted to us, and the method by which it is to be performed, to be particularly described in and by the following statement: The invention relates to an apparatus for delivering sacks, bags, or like flat articles discharged in overlapping relationship from a production machine. In accordance with the invention, there is provided apparatus for delivering sacks, bags, or the like flat articles discharged in overlapping relationship from a production machine therefor, and comprising means for stacking the articles to form packets, a slow moving conveyor providing a storage means and on which the packets may be inspected, and means for transferring the packets to a further conveyor on which the articles in each packet are placed in overlapping relationship once more, and by which the articles are fed to a winding means on which the articles are wound to form storage reels. The apparatus according to the invention makes it possible for the packets of articles that are stored and slowly conveyed on the interposed conveyor means to be checked and sorted out so that only nondefective articles are wound up to form the storage reel that consists of a spun band reel. In order that the winding operation need not be interupted even during the time interval between taking away a filled overlapping band reel and the commencement of winding the next overlapping band reel, it is desirable for the apparatus to have a second means for transferring the packets from the slow moving conveyor to a second further conveyor for feeding the articles to a second winding means. An example of the invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the drawing in which the single figure illustrates the interposed means for forming, conveying and separating the packets of articles. The sacks are discharged in overlapping formation 1 from a production machine (not shown). From the overlapping formation 1 of sacks, the sacks are stacked in known manner in a packeting station 3 to form packets 2. The packets 2 are brought by way of a corner roller track onto slowly moving conveyor belts 5 which form a storage means and on which they can be checked and defective items can be sorted out. By way of further corner roller tracks 6, 7, the packets 2 arrive at further intermediate storage paths 8, 9 on which further sorting out can possibly be performed but which will generally only serve to build up a supply.At the ends of the storage paths 8, 9, sacks are pulled off in known manner by means (not shown) and are deposited by applicators (also not shown) in overlapping relationship on the conveyor means 10, 11 of the winding means 12, 13 on which they are wound to form storage reels. The winding means with the preceding conveyor means that supply the articles in overlapping relationship are described in more detail in Speci fication No. 1 535405. WHAT WE CLAIM IS:-
1. Apparatus for delivering sacks, bags, or the like flat articles discharged in overlapping relationship from a production machine therefor, and comprising means for stacking the articles to form packets, a slow moving conveyor providing a storage means and on which the packets may be inspected, and means for transferring the packets to a further conveyor on which the articles in each packet are placed in overlapping relationship once more, and by which the articles are fed to a winding means on which the articles are wound to form storage reels.
2. Apparatus according to claim 1, having a second means for transferring the packets from the slow moving conveyor to a second further conveyor for feeding the articles to a second winding means.
3. Apparatus for delivering sacks, bags, or the like flat articles discharged in overlapping relationship from a production machine therefor, constructed and arranged substantially as hereinbefore described and shown in the accompanying drawings.
