Abstract

156,522. Walther, G. Jan. 24, 1917, [Convention date]. Disc wheels.-Metal wheels are cast with the hub, spokes, and rim in one piece, the hub and spokes being hollow and the rim of uniform thickness and circumferentially grooved at 8. The ends of the spokes are partially closed by bridgepieces 10 leaving apertures 9 through which the core used in casting the wheel may be withdrawn. The annular depressions 8 and raised ribs 7 on the rim are continued in the bridge pieces. The spokes 2 join the hub 1 and rim 3 on wide curves as shown at 4, 5.
