Abstract

155,938. Bevan, S. P. Oct. 15, 1919. Tanks.-A tank for motor spirit, oil, &c. comprises a circular body a, Fig. 1, having flat sides without projections and provided with a tube d fixed to the sides which acts as a bearing for a rod on which it may be supported. At the upper part, the side pieces are provided with recesses g in which are mounted a filling cap h and outlet cock i. In place of a cock, a combined outlet and vent may be provided comprising a tube j, Fig. 4, closed by a cap l and divided by a partition m with an air conduit n and liquid conduit o, one or more ports p putting the outlet into communication with the interior of the tank. In use, the cup l is removed and the tank turned on its bearing until the liquid flows from the outlet. The tube d is preferably mounted eccentrically so that the outlet always returns to the top, but it may be centrally mounted. Both inlet and out let mav be mounted in the same recess and the tank may be provided with partitions to form compartments for different liquids each with its own inlet and outlet.
