Abstract

The drive of the fabric draw-off roller (13) takes place by means of a transmission rotating-field magnet (15) which generates a torque independent of position. This torque is adjusted in dependence on the type of fabric (12) and the pattern. It is thus possible to obtain a drawing-off force which is always matched as closely as possible to the knitted article (12) and which allows a fabric draw-off treating the material with care. <IMAGE>
