154,938. Fleischer, E. Dec. 8, 1916, [Convention date]. Coking processes.-Coal is coked in a vertical retort by a current of producer gas having an initial temperature of 900‹ C. or more. If the temperature is below 900‹ C., part of the gas is burned at once. Air and steam are injected at the upper part of the retort to maintain a temperature zone of 600-800‹ C.
