Abstract

A tap (26), which is connected to a leadscrew (24) via a floating holder (25) arranged coaxially to the leadscrew (24), is set in a rotary and at the same time axial movement by a drive motor (29) by means of a follower nut (23) enclosing and guiding the leadscrew (24), while, at a different feed to this and with a separate drive, a counterboring tool (8) is advanced simultaneously or, as a function of the thread-cutting operation, directly after the latter, up to the workpiece by means of a main drive shaft (7) enclosing the floating holder (25) for the purpose of end facing the threaded connection. With this device, it is now possible to carry out the thread cutting and the end facing of a threaded connection in a single operation, the perpendicular position of thread and end face relative to one another being guaranteed. <IMAGE>
