Abstract

Pure 1-alkylaminoanthraquinones and 1-cycloalkylaminoanthraquinones are obtained when the reaction of 1-nitroanthraquinone with monoalkylamines or monocycloalkylamines is carried out in the presence of an ether or of a hydrocarbon or of a mixture thereof. The 1-alkylaminoanthraquinones and 1-cycloalkylaminoanthraquinones can be directly used as dyes (C.I. 60505) or else as useful intermediates for preparing dyes (C.I. 68215, 68200, 68205, 68220, 68500).
