Abstract

1536648 Attitude control of satellites MATRA 23 Sept 1977 [27 Oct 1976] 39777/77 Heading B7W A device for attitude control of a space vehicle, particularly a satellite having a single main or rotating symmetry axis Oz, has four or more inertial sensors 13 (only one shown), which deliver output signals representative of angular movements of the vehicle about respective axes regularly distributed around the main axis Oz which is fixed with respect to the vehicle. The use of any set of three of the sensors enables complete determination of the angular movements of the vehicle. The output signals control the rotation of respective motor-driven wheels 12 located on the axes.
