Abstract

1536132 Seats PULLMAN FLEXOLATORS Ltd 15 April 1976 [16 Jan 1975] 2001/75 Heading A4M A seat backrest comprises a generally flat platform 13 suspended across a frame 10 by two rows of suspension elements 16 linking the lateral margins 14 of the platform 13 and anchorages on, or connected to, the frame 10, and adjusting means arranged to move the margins 14 in the lumbar region in a direction generally perpendicular to the plane of the platform 13 to vary the support contour in the lumbar region. As shown, Figs. 1 and 2, the suspension elements comprise springs 16, 16A. A control knob 23 is manually rotated to turn lever arms 19 inter-connected by a rod 22 to displace springs 16A and hence the margins 14 in the lumbar region. A peg 24 on the knob 23 selectively engages one of three openings in a plate 26 to lock the levers 19 in the adjusted position. Other forms of adjustment and flat platforms 13 are described.
