Abstract

The arrangement operates in such a manner that the diode is biased by a constant current in the region of a lower optical received power level but by a constant voltage in the region of a higher level, the current being limited in order to prevent overloading. The arrangement operates reliably over a wide temperature range without needing accurate temperature compensation. <IMAGE>
