Abstract

The multilayer material contains a gelatin-containing silver-halide emulsion layer which contains a pyrazolonebenzimidazole as colour coupler. For the curing of the protein-containing layers and in particular of the magenta coupler-containing silver-halide emulsion layer, the material is impregnated with a solution of a fast-acting curing agent from the group consisting of carbamoylpyridinium and carbamoyloxypyridinium salts. The material is then dried. The use of the defined curing agent enables further processing of the exposed material at elevated temperature with at most small density losses of the magenta image, or none at all.
