1533722 Hydrocracking oils INSTITUT FRANCAIS DU PETROLE and BADISCHE ANILINUND SODA-FABRIK AG 21 May 1976 [21 May 1975 30 Dec 1975] 21130/76 Heading C5E A petroleum hydrocarbon charge 101 containing nitrogenous compounds is hydrogenated in a first reaction zone 108 (using a hydrodesulphurization, hydrodenitrification or hydrocracking catalyst) and the effluent 109 is separated into a gaseous phase 115 and a liquid phase 116 containing less than 50 ppm of ammonia; the liquid phase 116 is subjected to hydrocracking in a second reaction zone 121 in admixture with at least a portion 138 of the effluent 142 from a prefractionating zone 124 and the effluent 122 from the second reaction zone is stripped in the prefractionation zone 124 in admixture with the gaseous phase 115 to produce a liquid fraction 136 (at least a portion 138 of which is recycled to the second reaction zone) and a gaseous fraction 125 which is cooled and separated into a hydrogen rich gas 133 and a liquid product 130.
