Abstract

1533591 Waveguide duplexers ENGLISH ELECTRIC VALVE CO Ltd 17 Jan 1977 [12 March 1976] 09951/76 Heading H1W A branch duplexer, having one port M connected to an oscillatory source (e.g. a magnetron), a second port AE connected to an antenna, and a third TR connected to a transmit/ receive switch, is provided with an impedance transformer IT<SP>1</SP> which has the effect of increasing the impedance seen by the source such that the power transmitted to the antenna is maximized. The transformer may take any of the usual forms and is placed at a distance x from the reference plane P of the junction: where #g is the guided wavelength and # 3 is given by # 3 =1+1/# 1 and is the VSWR seen by the magnetron, #, being the VSWR produced by the TR cell. Generally # 1 is about 1À05.
