Abstract

1532882 Positioning of injection gates WOCOFRANZ-JOSEF WOLF & CO 30 April 1976 [18 Feb 1976] 17847/76 Addition to 1520258 Heading B5A A core of the type described and claimed in the main patent is used to produce a flexible, hollow moulding having a plurality of openings through its walls into the interior (e.g. a rubber T, Y or X junction) by injection or transfer moulding around the core through at least two gates symmetrically disposed around the position at positions of core fracture. The gates are slit-like with a length equal or greater than the core diameter, but less than or equal to the external diameter of the moulding, both at that position or positions. Each gate is arranged symmetrically with respect to the parting plane of the mould. Figure 2 illustrates the flash formed on a mould Y junction 1 by one of the gates.
