Abstract

1531622 Endless conveyers K G HINTERKOPF 22 Jan 1976 [22 Jan 1975] 02430/76 Heading B8A A device for the storage of components, which are transported from a feed machine 41 to a finishing machine 40, comprises an endless moving storage chain 1 for accommodating components, the chain 1 in an advance section 10 thereof being trained about fixed pulleys 3 and movable pulleys 6 which are mounted on vertically movable carriages 9, and in a return section 11 the chain 1 passes about fixed pulleys 2 and movable pulleys 5 which are also mounted on the carriages 9. The latter are capable of movement along vertical slideways 44 and are guided therealong by ball bearings which are not numbered in Fig. 2 but are shown as (46a-46d) in Fig. 3 (not shown) and which engage inwardly facing surfaces of the slideways 44 and also by angle irons 47 which engage rearwardly facing surfaces of the slideways 44. Rollers 14, 15, about which the chain 1 passes, receive drive from the machines 41, 40, respectively, and if, for example, the finishing machine 40 should break down the chain 1 is then driven only by the roller 14, whereby the carriages 9 are caused to move upwards consecutively so that the chain section 11 increases and acts as a component store. Should the chain tension exceed a predetermined value it rotates a control lever (51) out of engagement with a cut-out switch (59) thereby cutting off the chain drive, Fig. 4 (not shown).
