Abstract
1531344 Starting supercharged IC engines SOC D'ETUDES DE MACHINES THERMIQUES 24 Feb 1976 [25 Feb 1975] 07273/76 Addition to 1482605 Heading F1B The method claimed in Specification 1482605 is modified by the addition of the step of preventing fuel injection during an initial part of the starting time period of the engine. Fuel injection is prevented by a timer which operates for a predetermined period after mechanical cranking of the engine begins e.g. the time taken for the engine to make twenty revolutions, so that the air in the cylinder is heated by mixing with residual air heated by compression. Fuel injection may begin when the air in the cylinder reaches a predetermined temperature.
