1531285 Hooking device AUTOMOBILES PEUGEOT 27 April 1976 [15 May 1975] 16940/76 Heading E2A A moving element C, having a hook 10, is engageable with a fixed element (not shown), having a retaining member P. The hook 10 is pivotably mounted to arms 4 of an intermediate member 3 by a pin 9 and the intermediate member 3 is pivotably mounted to a member 1 by a pin 2. The member 1 is fixed to the moving element C, which may be the bonnet of a car, and is provided with an extension 8. A spring 11 urges the hook 10 against a portion 5 of the intermediate member 3 and the same spring urges an abutment surface 7 of each arm 4 of the intermediate member 3 against the extension 8 of the member 1. In use movement of the element C in the direction Fl causes the hook 10 to be moved to the position shown in full lines in Fig. 3 against the urging of the spring 11. Further movement of the element C in the direction Fl allows the spring to return the hook to its original position shown in broken lines. In order to move the element C in the direction F2 and not be limited by the hook 10 engaging the retaining member P, a tab 6 of the intermediate member 3 is used to move the latter to the position shown in Fig. 4 where its arms 4 have dis-engaged the extension 8 and the hook 10 has moved clear of the retaining member P.
