1531224 Measuring position of vehicle M S INSTRUMENTS Ltd 31 Oct 1975 [31 Oct 1974] 47177/74 Heading G4Q The time differences between the instants at which an object, e.g. a road vehicle P intersects three lines of sensors AA, BB, CC, Fig. 1, afford a measure of the distance of the path of the vehicle from a parallel datum line 4. Embodiments are described in which sensing is effected by inductive loops, or illumination, Figs. 2, 3 (neither shown), or pressure, Fig. 5 (not shown). Other (known) sensors may be utilized.
