Abstract
1531022 Valves KLINGER AG 24 Nov 1975 [28 Nov 1974] 48252/75 Heading F2V A pivoted disk valve includes a resilient sealing element 59 against which the disk 52 seats. The seal is mounted at 60 for pivoting movement between stop-surfaces 64 and in either direction of flow through the valve fluid pressure acts on the seal to increase the sealing compressive force against the disk. In an alternative arrangement shown in the lower half of the figure, the resilient sealing element 70 is carried by the disk and it co-operates with a sealing ring 75 secured in the housing. Fig. 4 (not shown) illustrates a further embodiment in which the resilient sealing element is made of plastics e.g. PTFE and is supported by a metallic ring (85).
