Abstract

The complexes, which, written in the form of the free acids, have the formula I <IMAGE> are prepared by adding to 1:1 complexes of the formula II <IMAGE> where A(-) is an anion, azomethine compounds of the formula III H - D - CH = N - E - H (III> or the two individual components thereof, the compounds of the formulae II and III together containing the n carboxyl and sulpho groups. The individual symbols are defined in Claim 1. The 1:2 chromium complexes obtained are suitable for dyeing and printing nitrogen-containing materials. The water-insoluble salts with amine bases are suitable for colouring organic liquids, resins, paints, wood stains, ballpoint pen pastes and anodically oxidised aluminium, and for use as spin-dyeing dyes.
