Abstract

1530506 Spirit duplicating masters MAZER CORP 18 May 1976 20363/76 Heading B6C A spirit duplicating master comprises an opaque paper sheet with a barrier material of an oleophobic resin on the front surface, a positive image printed on the resin layer, and a spirit duplicating ink negative image on the back surface. The master is particularly intended for situations where it is to be stored for indefinite periods prior to the taking of copies from the negative image, the positive image may be substantially the same or different, e.g. include additional information. The resin prevents the duplicating ink bleeding through the paper and affecting the positive image. A number of such masters may be assembled into booklets without any intervening protective tissue sheets. A suitable oleophobic resin is a fluorocarbon. The duplicating ink may be cetyl alcohol 5-25%, 35-45% crystal violet and 31-48% wax, this composition being hot-melting.
