Abstract

1530288 Photopolymerizable materials containing adhesion promoting compounds HOECHST AG 13 Oct 1975 [14 Oct 1974] 41801/75 Heading G2C A photopolymerizable material includes an adhesion promoting amide compound of Formula: in which m is 1 or 2, n is 1 or 2, and R 1 and R 2 are H, halogen, alkyl or alkoxy. The compound is in the polymerizable layer or between the layer and a support e.g. a Cu or Cu alloy plate. Amides specified are i) 2-mercapto acetic acid anilides and 3-mercapto propionic acid anilides substituted in the benzene ring by Cl, F, CH 3 and CH 3 O-, and N, N'-bis-(3-mercapto-propionyl)-1,3-phenylene diamine and N, N'-bis-(3-mercapto-propionyl)-1,4- phenylene diamine. The photo-sensitive layer comprises (a) a binder (b) an ethylenically unsaturated photo-polymerizable compound and (c) a photo-initiator, and may have a removable protective film. The layer can be carried on a temporary support and coated with the adhesion promoting amide prior to lamination to the permanent support.
