Abstract

1530024 Pressing cheese in moulds TEBEL MACHINEFABRIEKEN BV 25 March 1976 12158/76 Heading A2B Cheese moulds, each filled with drained curd, and having a compressing member therein, are stacked on a pallet in a plurality of columns and are then transferred to a press having a pressing plate for each column. As shown, the pallet has a whey collecting trough 5 frame members 8 defining a series of columns, and a moveable bottom which supports carrier plates 11 for the moulds. In a loading station, uprights 17 carry movable lifting strips 19 which engage strips 13 to raise and lower the intermediate bottom. In use, carriages 22 transfer the moulds 4 with compressing members 14 to the carrier plates 11 from a conveyor by means of lifting strips 23 which engage a rim 15 on each mould. The moulds are centred by means of guides 9. The columns of moulds are built up in stages, the intermediate bottom being lowered after each layer of moulds has been positioned. The moulds are similarly removed in layers to a discharge conveyor after pressing, the intermediate bottom being gradually raised. Specifications 1530025 and 1530026 having similar disclosures are directed to the loading station and pallet.
