Folding boxes; fittings, external; contents, viewing.-A collapsible case or crate in which the sides and ends are hinged to a rigid base is held in the erect condition by the side borders of the ends c<1>, c<2> engaging between inner and outer lugs h', h<2> on the ends of the sides b<1>, b<2> and by pivoted angle-clips i on the ends engaging over the corners of the sides and retained by bevel-nosed spring clips j. The angle-clips on the two ends are of different lengths and are not oppositely pivoted, so that they require little space between the ends when these are folded down. Slinging- cables k passing obliquely through the sides extend transversely across or are anchored to the base. Eyes l are provided for slinging the collapsed case or for tying several together. Pivoted hooks f at the ends of the side b<2> engage studs g at the ends of the side b<1> to hold the case &c. in the collapsed condition. A detachable or other cover is provided, and doors may be provided in the sides and ends for the inspection of or otherwise dealing with the goods in the crate.
