Abstract

1529085 Magnetic heads COMPAGNIE INTERNATIONALE ROM INFORMATIQUE CII HONEYWELL BULL 20 Jan 1976 [23 Jan 1975] 02208/76 Heading G5R A recording head 11, Fig. 3a, has a core 14 of constant thickness including at its two ends a recording pole 17 and a flux-return pole 18 which is of larger cross-section than the recording pole, with a magnetic shunt 12 on the opposite side of the recording medium 13. A plurality of such heads may be arranged in a module, Fig. 4 (not shown), e.g. in oppositely oriented pairs, Figs. 5a and 5b (not shown). The recording medium may be a film 103 on the surface of a cylinder 102 forming the magnetic shunt. Fig. 6a, or a tensioned endless band pressing against a shunt bar (202), Fig. 6b (not shown).
