Abstract

1528535 Clocks SEIKOSHA KK SEIKO KOKI KK and SUWA SEIKOSHA KK 20 May 1976 [23 May 1975] 20887/76 Heading G3T Rotary part(s) of a timepiece movement are mounted in facing portions of back and front case parts 1, 2, the conventional frame plates being eliminated. The clock described is driven by an electric stepping motor having a rotor 7 and a stator 6 carrying a coil 4. The coil is wound on a bobbin 5 a portion 5a of which supports electronic circuitry to pulse the coil. The spacing of the case parts is aided by the bobbin and by posts 35, 37 which also hold the stator. The latter carries a bearing 24 for a gear 8 which couples the rotor pinion to a wheel 9 fast on seconds shaft 14. A pinion on this shaft drives a gear 10 and thus cannon pinion 11, the latter driving minute wheel 12 and thus hour wheel 13. The case parts are of plastics and snap-fitted together, but they may alternatively be of aluminium and held together by posts with deformable ends Figs. 5, 6 (not shown). The hour and minute hands may be set by turning a knob 17, slip occurring between the wheel of gear 10 and its shaft 10b. The slip mechanism is described in detail Fig. 3 (not shown).
