Abstract

1528423 Touch responsive switches DAINI SEIKOSHA KK 10 Nov 1976 [11 Nov 1975 (2)] 46803/76 Heading G1N [Also in Division G3] In an electronic timepiece with a display 13 controlled by a switch, the latter comprises two spaced electrodes 3, 4 which are insulated from each other but may be bridged by contact with the user's body, at least one of the electrodes being provided on the glass 1 of the timepiece. As shown both the electrodes are on the glass and they are formed by evaporation on its upper surface 1a; they may be recessed in the glass surface Fig. 3 (not shown). Alternatively one of the electrodes may be formed by case body 2 and thus permanently in contact with the user's body. The electrodes are connected in a known transistor switching circuit Fig. 2 (not shown). The display 13 may be of L.E.D. type and energized for a predetermined period when the switch is closed, or may be a liquid crystal display switched on and off by successive closures of the switch. The latter type of display may thus be switched off at night.
