Abstract

Appliance for release active vapours of an insecticidal active compound, which comprises a reservoir for holding the active compound, an evaporation surface, and in connection with said reservoir an electrical resistor which heats at least part of the reservoir, and a connection of the resistor to an electrical power source, the appliance containing two porous or fibrous plates which lie opposite one another and are impregnated with an insecticidal chrysanthemic acid ester having a vapour pressure between 1.10<-6> and 1.5.10<-4> mbar at 25 DEG C, and whose total evaporation surface is at least 20 cm<2>; the resistor is enclosed between the two plates and heats the large inner faces of the two plates to a temperature not exceeding 90 DEG C.
