Abstract

1,236,343. Insecticide diffuser. J. R. GEIGY A.G. 11 July, 1969 [12 July, 1968], No. 35125/ 69. Heading A5G. An apparatus for emitting insecticidal vapours comprises a fibrous, absorbent mass 1 impregnated with a liquid, volatile, insecticidal phosphoric acid ester having on its major surfaces a thin layer 2 of polymeric material through which the vapour may slowly diffuse, the remaining surfaces being covered by an impermeable layer 3. The absorbent may comprise one or more pads of suitable material selected from non-sized paper, non-sized cellulose, wool felt, felt, card, carboard, glass fibre and non-woven fabric and modifications described include the provision of a more or less rigid "cage" of plastics material enclosing the basic device (see Figs. 6 and 7, not shown) and a surrounding impermeable plastics covering which is to be wholly or partly removed when the device is put into use (see Figs. 4 and 5, not shown).
