1526572 Measuring speed electronically TRAFFIC SAFETY SYSTEMS Ltd 23 Feb 1977 [24 Feb 1976] 07276/76 Heading G4D Odometer pulses are accumulated in a counter 4, the resultant count is passed to an arithmetic unit 1 and multiplied by a calibration factor set on manual switches 8, the resultant value representing distance travelled is returned to the counter and displayed at 7; time pulses are accumulated in another counter 5, the values in counters 4, 5 are passed again to the arithmetic unit which divides one by the other to arrive at the speed which is then passed to the display 7. The system is employed in an apparatus as disclosed in Specification 1,290,051 for measuring the speed of one vehicle from another moving vehicle.
