1525805 Printing apparatus ROTOBIND Ltd 14 May 1976 20115/76 Heading B6C In a flexographic printing machine 10 a reverse angle, removable doctor blade 94 is mounted to be mechanically moved into position against an ink roll 26 downstream of an ink trough 34 and upstream of the printing roll by pressure from, e.g. a fluid diaphragm actuated piston 136 on pivotal arms 118 which move adjustable self-aligning bearings 110 (Fig. 7) supporting the blade assembly 100. Ink from the trough 34 which, e.g. has recirculating overflow is metered by a blade secured by screws 66, and excess ink from blade 94 is also re-circulated Hydraulic-piston assisted, manual adjusting devices 22, 18 move subframe members 20 and 16 to align ink roll 26 with printing roll 32 and to align rolls 26 and 32 with impression roll 306 respectively. Hydraulic pistons 264, 294 also trip the rolls 26, 32, 306 when required.
