Abstract
1525190 Prosta-4,13-dienoic acid derivatives ROUSSEL UCLAF 17 Dec 1976 [18 Dec 1975] 52856/76 Heading C2C The invention comprises prosta-4,13-dienoic acid derivatives of the formula wherein R is H or C 1-4 alkyl, R<SP>1</SP> is C 2-4 unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbyl; and m is 3, 4 or 5; and when R is H salts thereof and their preparation by standard methods. The following intermediates are also prepared:-methyl 9 - hydroxyimino - 15 - hydroxy prosta - cis - 4, trans - 13 - dienoate; methyl 9 - oxo - 15 - hydroxyprosta - cis - 4, trans - 13 - dienoate; methyl 9 - hydroxyimino - 15 - oxo - prosta - cis - 4, trans - 13 - dienoate; and methyl 9 - hydroxyimino - 15 - ethynyl - 15 - hydroxyimino - 15 - ethynyl - 15 - hydroxyprosta - cis - 4, trans - 13 - dienoate. Pharmaceutical compositions suitable for oral, rectal or parenteral administration, contain the above compounds in association with pharmaceutically acceptable carriers or excipients. The compounds possess hypotensive smooth-muscle contracting and anti-bronchospasmodic activity.
