1524741 Jet propulsion nozzles; variable area BRITISH AIRCRAFT CORP Ltd 28 Jan 1977 00388/76 Heading F1J [Also in Division B7] A jet propulsion duct outlet comprises a fixed duct member 1, a pivotable eyelid-like member 2 and a fairing member 4 forming a continuous exterior surface in both an open position of the eyelid member 1 in which efflux is not restricted and also in at least one intermediate position, the fairing member 4 moving sufficiently clear of the aperture formed between duct member 1 and eyelid member 2 when the eyelid member is in a closed position so that thrust reversal is unimpeded.
