Abstract

Flowers and plants, pots and the like for growing.-A flower pot or like horticultural vessel consists of a block having in it one or more large cells for holding soil and plants and one or more smaller cells for holding water or other liquid, which gradually passes through the walls of the cells into the soil. Fig. 1 shows a flower-pot consisting of a block b provided with two large cells c to receive plants and soil and two smaller cells d to receive water or solution for continuously moistening or feeding the plants. In another form, four large plant cells are arranged around a smaller water cell, with or without additional water cells between them. In another form, four small water cells are arranged around a large plant cell. The plant cells may be provided with drainage holes. The blocks and cells have substantially vertical sides to facilitate moulding or pressing out. The bottoms of the pots may be glazed or otherwise made waterproof, and the sides and ends may be made to represent bark, or otherwise moulded, printed, or ornamented.
