Abstract

1524075 Vehicle door hinges WILMOTBREEDEN Ltd 13 Sept 1976 [18 July 1975] 30184/75 Heading E2F In a vehicle door hinge of the type in which two channel section members fit one 6 within the other 2 and have side walls 4, 9, 10, joined by a pivot pin 5, the inner member 6 has a reinforcing web 11 joining its side walls 9, 10 and has a base formed in two interlocking portions 7a, 7b. Fasteners 3, 8 extend through base of each member for attachment. Fig. 3 shows a blank from which the inner member 6 can be formed by bending side walls 9, 10 at right angles to base 11 then bending the base portions 7a, b into a single plane. A torsion bar spring can be mounted on the inner member to bias a roller into engagement with a profiled edge of a side wall of the outer member to define holdopen positions (Figs. 4, 5 not shown).
