Abstract

1523855 Etching BORG-WARNER CORP 2 Feb 1977 [23 Feb 1976] 04335/77 Heading B6J [Also in Division F4] Nucleate boiling surfaces are prepared on a metallic heat exchanger surface by masking the surface with cracked chrome, nickel, or scored lead plating and then treating the surface with an etchant to create selective sites for the nucleate boiling. Copper, aluminium and steel heat exchanger tubes are thus etched with conventional etching compositions.
