1523441 Metal cleaning apparatus DAWE INSTRUMENTS Ltd 3 Dec 1975 [8 Jan 1975] 719/75 Heading C7E [Also in Division F2] Articles to be cleaned are placed in a compartment 13 containing cleaning liquid up to the brim and vibrations applied thereto by means of electromechanical transducers 18. To remove contaminants from the surface of the cleaning liquid, further cleaning liquid contained in compartment 15 is heated to produce vapour which on contact with coil 22 is cooled and enters compartment 13 causing contaminated liquid to flow over barrier 12 into compartment 15. A drainage pipe 23 with valve 24 is provided to enable compartment 13 to be completely drained into compartment 15, in the case of high contamination. Compartment 13 then being replenished by condensed liquid vapour from compartment 15.
