1523084 Acrylic copolymers; powder paints MITSUBISHI RAYON CO Ltd 7 Jan 1977 [16 Jan 1976] 486/77 Headings C3B C3M and C3P Normally solid thermosetting acrylic polymers of M.W. 4000-30,000 comprise (1) 3-30 wt. per cent of an N-alkoxymethyl (meth)acrylamide, (2) 1-50 wt. per cent of an acidic monomer which is either (a) a monoester of a di- or tri-valent carboxylic acid with a hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate or (b) a monoalkyl ester of itaconic acid or of alpha-methylene glutaric acid, and (3) 20-96 wt. per cent of a further monomer as defined, e.g. methyl methacrylate, n-butyl methacrylate, tridecyl methacrylate or styrene. Use.-As powder paints, either alone or mixed with an epoxy resin, and optionally pigmented.
