Abstract

1523040 Polyacetal moulding compositions SOC ITALIANA RESINE SIR SpA 23 Dec 1976 [23 Dec 1975] 53971/76 Heading C3M Polyacetal moulding compositions comprise (1) 100 parts polyacetal resin and (2) 0À01-15 parts of a block copolymer AB where A constitutes 20-90% of the copolymer and is a polylactone block consisting of recurring units -[CO . PMO]- where PM is a C2-13 linear polymethylene chain, optionally substituted by alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, aryl or halogen, and B is a polyoxymethylene block end-capped with an ester, ether or urethane group. The compositions may also contain antiacids, e.g. nylons, blockpolyester amides, urea and derivatives thereof, and phenolic antioxidants. Examples describe blends of esterified and etherified polyoxymethylenes with esterified and etherified formaldehyde (#-caprolactone block copolymers together with phenolic antioxidants and hexamethylenediamine adipate/ hexamethylene diamine sebacate/caprolactam terpolyamide or caprolactam/4-hydroxy-3,5- di-t-butylphenylpropionic acid polyesteramide.
