Abstract

1520967 Sealing HAPPICH GmbH GEBR 8 Sept 1976 [10 Dec 1975] 37180/76 Heading E1J [Also in Division B5] An edge-protecting member, e.g. for a car body, comprises an extruded U-section base 2 and a continuous strip 4 made of a material which is softer than that of the base 2, the strip 4 extending over the entire outer surface of the base 2 and having its lateral edges 5 projecting for a distance into the U- shape, each edge 5 inside the U-shape terminating in at least one longitudinal clamping lip 6. As shown, the base 2 surrounds a core 1 of metal strip. An air gap 7, Fig. 2, may be provided between the base 2 and the strip 4.
