Abstract

1520420 Tuning cavity resonators EMIVARIAN Ltd 10 Oct 1975 [10 Oct 1974] 43923/74 Heading H1W A tuning screw 2 slidable within a mounting 5 is held in its adjusted position by a threaded member 11 urged laterally against a threaded portion of the screw. The member 11 may be a half-nut slidable in lateral bore 12 of the mounting and urged towards the tuning screw by a spring in the from of a split ring 14. The tension in the spring is adjustable by means of a bolt 16 having a slotted head 15 for location of the spring 14. The screw 2 carries a sapphire tuning rod extending into a resonant oscillator cavity. A drive shaft 9 is connected to the screw by means of a cross pin 10.
