1520399 Resurfacing roads HUILES GOUDRONS ET DERIVES 7 July 1975 [10 April 1975] 01158/78 Divided out of 1515545 Heading E1G A method of repairing a slippery road surface having an excess of hydrocarbon binder at its surface comprises firstly spreading, at a rate of 6-12 litres per sq. metre, a layer of aggregate sized in the range .6/10 to 16/18mm, and secondly heating the layer and the underlying binder (as by hot air or infra-red) to a sub-surface temperature between 100‹C and 200‹C. The new surface is then compacted, e.g. by rolling.
