Abstract

1520080 Switches with mercury wetted contacts C A RENTON 2 June 1977 [21 Dec 1976] 53326/76 Heading H1N A switch with mercury wetted contact has its contacts in a sealed container filled with a non- conducting liquid. In Fig. 1 a glass container 11 is filled with silicone oil and contacts 12, 13 are controlled by an electromagnet acting on an armature 18. In Fig. 3 a rotary selector has a rotatable operating magnet 37 arranged to influence movable contacts 44 in a sealed container 3. In Fig. 2 (not shown) such a contact arrangement is operable by a magnet on a push-button of a keyboard.
