Abstract

1519868 Cable fastener NIFCO Inc 21 Nov 1975 [22 Nov 1974] 47900/75 Heading E2B A releasable cable fastener comprises a flexible strap 1 having recesses 2 therein and a member 4 having a central portion 5 defining passages 6, 7 and having teeth 8, 9 formed on respective walls 10, 11, the wall 11 having an extension 11a. Shoulders 7', 7', Fig. 2, are provided in the member 4. In use one end of the strap 1 is inserted into the passage 6 and is retained therein by the tooth 8 of the member 4 entering a recess 2 in the strap. The latter is passed around cables, for example, and its other end is inserted into the passage 7 where it is retained by the tooth 9. Each tooth is provided with a ramp, such as 8a in Fig. 4, and this allows the strap to be moved in one direction through the respective passages. Release is effected by using the extension 11a to move the tooth 9 out of engagement with said recess 2 of the strap 1, this being facilitated by the shoulders 7', 7' which support said strap.
